I am a qualified Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist since graduating from the University College Dublin with a Clinical Masters in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. I am a full member of Association of Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy Ireland (A.P.P.I) and a Registered Practitioner with the Irish Council For Psychotherapy (I.C.P). Other professional qualifications include BA (Hons) in Social Science, BA Social Studies, Diploma in Addiction Psychology, a professional certificate in Suicide Prevention (ASSIST) and Professional Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. My core training at Saint Vincent’s University Hospital Dublin was in clinical psychotherapy. This model of training included a in-depth analysis of cases involving sever mental illness namely schizophrenia, major depression, bipolar disorder and body dysmorphia.
As a qualified Psychotherapist I work in private practice and as a Clinician in the private healthcare sector, where my work is largely centered around corporate wellness, counselling and crisis incident stress management . I have worked for the past 8 years with both adult and adolescent clients presenting with a variety of issues including but not limited to borderline personality disorder, depression, anxiety, addiction, family breakdown and work related stress. I draw upon a number of theoretical approaches when working with clients including Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Schema therapy and Psychoanalytic therapy.
